Tampa, Florida (August 5, 2019) – Dawning Family Services, formerly Alpha House of Tampa, announces its new name and brand identity, new campus and expanded services. Founded 38 years ago, Dawning Family Services is one of Hillsborough County’s oldest nonprofit 501(c)(3) social service agencies offering shelter and support for homeless families with at least one minor child.

During the summer of 2019, Dawning Family Services embarked on a brand identity overhaul with a name change including a new logo, look and feel that will better represent its mission and values. Dawning Family Services new brand identity represents lifting you up, providing a sense of security and belonging that every family deserves and the start of a new day.

“We’re excited to build on the foundation of our past with a nod to a new dawn for the families we serve,” said Patricia J. Langford, chief executive officer of Dawning Family Services. “Our new brand identity reflects our values of acceptance, commitment and partnership. The brand embodies everything Dawning Family Services strives to provide for our clients.”

The organization’s expanded services will cater to a broader range of family types including but not limited to single fathers, dual parents, and multi-generational relationships. And while not all individuals and families will present with barriers to housing and other services, Dawning Family Services is, nevertheless, poised to address issues associated with mental health, substance abuse, and evictions, etc. “Consistent with our mission, ‘we create sustainable change in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable families,’” added Langford.

Dawning Family Services will relocate from its original South Tampa location off South Tampania Avenue to its new West Tampa (6718 N. Armenia Avenue) location in Fall 2019. The new campus will provide ample space for the delivery of critical support services and short-term, bridge-housing emergency shelter. The goal for the new campus is to help families in Hillsborough County create and maintain their own sense of home in an area of the county that has a greater need for the organization’s services.
