Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) assistance
Post-shelter support to ensure a family's continued housing stability
Rapid Re-Housing
The Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program at Dawning Family Services focuses on providing short-term rental assistance to families who are currently experiencing “literal homelessness.”
The program, which has been a part of our housing services since 2016, helps families to get out of emergency shelter and back on the road to stability as quickly as possible. Our Housing First approach emphasizes that stable housing can work as a platform which allows clients to begin achieving personal goals, improving their quality of life, and avoid returning to homelessness.
Once a client has successfully identified housing and is able to move in with the assistance provided by a Dawning Family Services housing case manager and through RRH rental assistance, he or she can begin to work towards other needs through referrals to different agencies.
In 2019, 47 families were housed through our RRH program.
